We spent Friday night at my cousin Linda's before getting out of their hair early Saturday. We checked into the Karrinyup Waters Resort, a caravan park not too far from Linda's.
We took in Kings Park on Sunday morning. It's a lovely spot - beautiful gardens and great views of town and the Swan and Canning rivers. Sunday arvo we strolled around town, spending most of our time in book stores. Sunday night we went for dinner at a Korean restaurant with my cousin Lisa, who has been living in Perth this year, and her sister Belinda and Belinda's boyfriend Jess, who were in Perth for a few days holiday. It was good tucker at the restaurant and we topped off the night with some Wii at Lisa's.
Whilst in town on Sunday we came across the "View from Above" exhibition outside the Perth Gallery. This exhibition shows photos taken from the air looking down at various things from many places all over the world. This is the third time we have seen this exhibition. The first was in Birmingham in the UK around Christmas 2004 and the second was in Melbourne along the banks of the Yarra at the end of 2006. There are some really amazing shots.
We spent Monday afternoon wondering around Fremantle. It's a lovely spot down there. David sampled some of the local brew at the Little Creatures Brewery (I was having an alcohol free day!).
Tuesday 11 November was our second wedding anniversary. We had quite a lazy day with a bit of shopping in the morning followed by reading and internet in the afternoon. We had brought back from Melbourne with us a bottle of wine left over from our wedding (David suggested we use the last case of Shiraz one bottle a year on our anniversary). We polished this off with some home cooked bolognaise. A very pleasant day. Fingers crossed we win the $20million Oz Lotto from that night. We were feeling lucky!
Pack up today and head north to the bits between Perth and Geraldton we didn't get the opportunity to see on the way down.
