On leaving Exmouth we stopped at a seafood shop which had been recommended to us by numerous people. We bought some fresh prawns which we ended up having for lunch in sandwiches. We're very posh!
Coral Bay sits alongside the southern section of the Ningaloo Reef. It is a resort more so than a town. There are two big caravan parks, a backpackers, and a hotel motel. There are very few houses and a small shopping centre with supermarket, bakery, newsagent and a few touristy stores. The town was packed whilst we were here.
We did a bit of snorkeling here and David also got the opportunity to get out on the motorbike into some sand dunes and other dirt tracks. Some teenagers in the caravan park, who are keen on motorbikes, came over and chatted to David for ages as he was getting ready for his ride and on his return.
Tuesday night we went to happy hour at the pub before watching the sunset. The romance never dies!
Wednesday's weather was overcast and humid with the odd drizzle patches. We kept waiting for the downfall and the storm. It came at 1am Thursday morning. The thunder was so loud, like it was on top of us and there was a fair bit of rain as well (this was a good thing as our camper and car both needed a good wash!).
After packing up this morning we had one last snorkel before heading off.
