The turnoff into the Mornington Wilderness Camp, a wildlife sanctuary, was at the 402km mark and then another 83km to the camp. There was a good setup at the camp, including hot showers. We are actually getting more luxury along the Gibb than we were expected.

After setting up camp and having some lunch on Saturday we then drove to Sir John Gorge. The road was pretty good except for one extremely rocky dry creek crossing. We took a video of our return trip through this crossing and it was rather amusing as the camera was going all over the place due to the rocky ride.

Sir John Gorge was a lovely spot of the Fitzroy river. We had a very quick dip in the river before I sat down to do some reading and David wandered off with his camera.

On our way back to camp we stopped and did the Termite trail. We are now termite experts!

Saturday night we were able to listen to the footy. North were playing Brisbane and I ended up the happy camper that night!

Sunday morning we went for a walk along Annie's Creek before driving to Dimond Gorge. Again this gorge is on the Fitzroy river. Our first impression was nothing spectacular but once we climbed up onto the rocks we were able to get a better look at the gorge and it was pretty good.

Our next stop was Cajeput on the banks of the Fitzroy River. We'd just sat down and were eating lunch when David spotted a croc swimming down the far side of the river. That put a stop to the swim after lunch even though he was a freshie. Later in the day though we got up enough courage to go for a swim when we saw others swimming.

We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon sitting by the river reading and watching the croc.
