We were both hugely relieved when we made it past the 10km mark of the Gibb River Road! The road was pretty rough. We hit our next obstacle, the Pentecost River, at the 57km mark. We decided to stop for lunch and wait to see others cross before we took the plunge.
A couple of vehicles went across whilst we were lunching, one a truck the other a Landcruiser. Both crossed with ease so we got ready to cross. All went well.
We only travelled another 10kms to get to the Cockburn Ranges Lookout (1km west of Home Valley Station) as this was our planned stop for the night. It wasn't actually a camping area but we waited until sunset before opening up the camper and setting up for the night.
The view from the lookout was pretty great over the Cockburn ranges. It was a nice spot to stop, even though there was no shade.
