We had a great couple of weeks here in Dunsborough.
We hired a car for the two weeks. A Hyundai Tucson. It was just big enough to accommodate the four of us and our luggage including Shane's fishing rods, which never saw the light of day.
The resort was opposite the bay beach, which was very handy. We had a two bedroom, two bathroom unit as our accommodation. The resort also had a tennis court, games room, BBQ area and wireless internet room. Our unit was opposite the internet room so we could access the internet from the comfort of our unit. It was a good set up only a five minute drive into town.
David and Shane played tennis on the first day and David hurt his knee. Shane wasn't left with anyone to play with as Kris is six months pregnant and I still have my broken arm.
We spent our days relaxing either in the unit or at the beach, reading and playing cards. We went to a few wineries and a couple of breweries. Shane played golf a few times. We went for a drive to other beaches in the area - they were all pretty good and the water is a great shade of blue.
Christmas Day we spent at the unit. We did look into going to a restaurant or winery but the cheapest was $80 per head and did not include any drinks. We thought we could do better at the unit especially with chef Shane. Shane is a very good cook and for Christmas he did a roast pork with apple sauce and roast vegies. It was yum. We played a bit of cards and watched DVDs.
New years eve we went to a late dinner at a local Italian restaurant. We were served our bread, entrees and main within an hour - a bit disappointing when we thought we would sit an enjoy a few drinks with our meal. Anyway, we headed back to the unit and played cards till 3 in the morning stopping only briefly at midnight to wish each other a happy new year.
A highlight of the trip was seeing (although if you ask David, he'll say stalking) Adam Gilchrist at the local shops. My sister saw him while I was in shop so when she told me which way he'd gone I followed looking for him - that's not stalking is it?!
My sister Kris did have a cough which really hurt and sent her to the doctor's for some relief. She ended up with bruised ribs a few days later as a result of the cough, she found this out after another trip to the doctor.
Today we head into Perth and fly back to Adelaide. We've had a very enjoyable two weeks here.
