Today was the day Liam arrived in Nepal!!!! I woke up far too early (9am is too early when you're waiting for something exciting!!), so just stayed in bed for ages, trying to pass the time, then got up at about 11.30ish, to tidy my room. This morning and last night, my room was an absolute tip, with clothes all over the floor, rubbish everywhere, and the contents of my suitcase everywhere. A bit like my room at home really!! So I tidied up the litter, folded my clothes and put them in a neat pile, cleaned up the rest of my things, then went out to get some breakfast/lunch. I found my way to New Orleans cafe where I had a coke and some nachos, then I went back to the hotel, where I had more time to kill, so I just played games until 3pm came. Well, just before - I was too excited!!
I walked over to Kathmandu guest house where I had heard a bus to the airport went from, but was then directed to somewhere else. Thankfully, I found the "tourist bus" (only for tourists this time) on its way somewhere, so I hopped on, and it drove me straight to the airport. I was the only passenger, and the driver said he would wait for me which was nice. I went over to the arrivals lounge - the place where people waiting for family or friends go - the place where if you're coming out of the airport, you see a million faces all looking at you. I only had to wait about 30 or 40 minutes which was very lucky!! I had so many butterflies, and craning my neck at every tall white person I saw. I finally saw him - the tall English man with the green Tuskar tshirt. I ran out to see him, and I felt a sense of relief, knowing now that nothing went wrong on the journey!! I took Liam over to the minibus, and we headed back to Thamel. I could see the mountains again , peeking over the hills, which made me smile. Actually, I never once stopes smiling from the moment I saw Liam walk out of the airport!!
We managed to get dropped off right outside our hotel, and I took Liam up to the room. He unpacked a little bit, then we went for momos and banana lassis at my favourite little Tibetan restaurant. On our way back to the hotel, we took a detour and I showed Liam around a bit of Thamel.
When we got back to the room, it was showers all around, then talking and catching up for hourssss!! Probably an early bedtime, especially for those of use who are jetlag!!
