Today was more of a lazy day. I love my lazy days, staying in bed til gone 2... But I had an excuse this time. I have a cold. A very annoying cold that hurts my throat and makes me sneeze every 5 seconds. So I did stay in bed until 2pm, but after a horrible nights sleep. The bed is rock solid, so I now have a bad back, and I woke up with the most horrible headache, probably after no proper sleep - I dipped in and out of sleep all night.
But at 2.30 I pulled myself out of bed, got dressed and headed out. I carried a bag of dirty laundry, which I managed to get cleaned in 2 hours. I didn't care about the cost (not that it was much anyways!!) because I now have clean clothes!! I did do a bit of washing at DNC, but my hand washing skills aren't very good, and washing by a machine is much easier and cleaner!!
I sat down in Northfield Cafe to find that they have a TORTOISE!!!!!!!! I love tortoises so much, and I'm planning to get myself one in the next few years. That is, if I can keep it at uni. If not, I'll get myself fine as a graduation present!!
For my lunch/breakfast at 3, I had a burger and chips, along with a latte and a banana lassi :)
I then wandered all round Thamel, picking up bits and pieces as I went, like the dark grey poncho you can see in the picture, some woollen slippers, some psychology books which I think will help me a lot at uni, and some strepsils and tiger balm for my cold. I then went to pick up my laundry, then took everything back to the hotel. After an hour or so, I went back out to find some food. I wasn't that hungry, so I found Maya's Mexican cocktail bar and restaurant. As it happens, Mexicans have 6 hour "happy hour" - from 4-10pm. So 2 cocktails for the price of one!! I had a plate of buffalo momos, and 2 cocktails called "lime light" which contained white rum, lime juice, soda, sugar and something else. They weren't watery this time!! I was shocked when I took my first big gulp!! But they were nice, and I did a bit of people watching through the window, where I could see everyone passing by down below. I didn't go the short way back, instead I took a big loop and walked slowly through the lights and music. It was nice, not busy and no car every half a second beeping it's horn. There were some, but not many. I then got back into my room and facetimed my favourite man (Liam), and then my mum (with Stan the dog who picked up a slipper for me!!) who's still getting used to her new iphone (can you believe it?!). Now, it's way past my bedtime, so I'm going to sleep on my rock hard bed again. Goodnight!!
