Today was another day of trying to find things to pass the time. After the kids went to school, I went upstairs and finished my book (I had only read one chapter!!) - "the moment" which apparently is this year's "one day" which I don't think can't be compared to. This book was alright, and surprisingly contained a paragraph every now and again with umm raunchy detail. Quite detailed as well, didn't quite fit into the book I thought... But it was good anyway. Some parts confusing, but I get confused at almost anything, even the simplest of things, as most of you know!!
Between reading my book, I took a slow walk up to Thali, where I bought some paints for the kids, and a small set of colouring pencils for Parmisha, who seems to stay away from school every day. Oh, and I found a huge bag of white rabbits!!!! (Very delicious sweets!!) Before I leave DNC I HAVE to stock up on white rabbits (to eat and to take home haha) and at the little supermarket thing in Thali they also have a back shelf full of bulk buy stuff. So I'll probably plan to leave a bag of stuff like that food at the Sacred Valley Inn, Ailsa's place, if she's okay with that. Or I might just bring it with me. Depends how much space my dearest Liam has in his suitcase haha!!
I finished the book at around 1, then went down to give Parmisha her colouring pencils, and sat and did some colouring with her for a bit. Then at 4, the rest of the kids came back from school, and at 5 we all gathered into the physio room for... A dance lesson!! I should explain to those who don't know. So around this time in Nepal there's a festival called Tihar (I think it's spelled like that, I'm just guessing!!) and the tradition is that groups go round houses (usually the bigger ones) and do some dancing, then the house gives them a bit of money - a bit like Halloween. At DNC, they take the kids down into Thamel, one of the main tourist areas in Kathmandu, and go round hotels and restaurants, doing some dancing and raising money for DNC. Apparently it raises quite a bit!! I think that's the plan anyway, I'll tell you more about it when the time comes!! They tried to drag me into dancing but I've now convinced them I can't dance, and will take pictures instead. It will be good for the kids to get out of the centre, they're almost trapped here, as it's quite far away from anywhere, and a lot of them are too young to take the bus by themselves.
After dancing, it was the usual routine of rice then me escaping upstairs to find some internet (for ucas, this, and talking to people). But unfortunately we currently have another powercut, so there is no way of having internet!!
Apologies for no posts in many days!!
Hope the storm's holding out over there in England!! Lots of love to everyone xx
