So today was quite similar to yesterday, but apart from in houses, we went into Thamel and went to a hotel, a restaurant, a shop, and the street to dance. The morning was exactly the same as yesterday, so I won't bore you with that!!
At about 2 we piled back into the microbus, and headed into the centre of ktm. Our first stop was meant to be at someone's house, however they gave us food, money, and sent us in our way. I would tell you why, but I don't understand Nepali that well!! So we piled back into the bus, and took what seemed like hours to get to the next place - hotel moonlight - which looks like a very nice place to stay, but probably more than my budget!! So we danced there, and in the "group dances" we pulled in a group of English people who loved it!! Almost as much as the kids, but not quite!!
Our next stop was meant to be Gaia Restaurant, very close to where Michael is staying, but we were early, so we did a dance in the street, and got a huge crowd of people!! The cars struggled to get past in the tiny streets. We were then told that Gaia were ready for us, but that a shop wanted us to dance for them, so we did a quick dance (just the 4 girls), they gave us some money, and we moved on. We stayed and danced and ate at Gaia for ages. The girls did their dance, then Muna and Bikash did their dance, then we did about 4 groups dances. I was holding Parmisha up the whole time and by the end my arms were dead!! For those who don't know, Parmisha cannot walk by herself, she uses a walking frame most the time, gets carried and holds onto people or things the rest of the time.
When the dancing had finished, we sat down and were all given orange fanta (the best and most brightly coloured!!), fried veggie things, chips (tasted like cardboard), and ICECREAMMMM!!!!!!!!! Most if you will know that I have an obsession with icecream, which was brought to light when I took on my job as an icecream scooper - selling icecream from a trike or van. This was really Nepali icecream, but was so tasty!! The kids loved it. For Kumar, I had to hold his icecream and let him eat it, as he technically only has 2 fingers on each hand, and cannot bend his elbows enough. He managed to get icecream all over his face before he asked me to help!!
We were then supposed to go to Hotel Holy Himalaya (opposite the Sacred Valley Inn!!), but the receptionist informed us that we were meant to be there at 5, not 9.30!! So we packed in to the microbus and head off back to DNC.
On the way back, we spent 10 minutes at a police checkpoint discussing that there were no signs to say it was a one way street (we were going the opposite way, oops), and which way the main road was. We finally got there!!
The kids (and me!!) were so so tired again, and one fell asleep one my shoulder, and one on my lap. Oh, and Ayog was snoring bless him!!
Was going to have a "shower" tonight, but I'm too tired. I'll have one tomorrow morning!!
