Not much happened today, so I'm across this will be a short post!!
Yesterday someone told me breakfast was going to be at 8 instead of 9, which is what it's been over the holidays. Some kids told me they were going back to school today, some told me tomorrow, so I was very confused. I got downstairs for 8 just in case, but as I had guessed, there was no school so breakfast was at 9. Some of the kids sat with me whilst I had my tea, and chatted away whilst Baloo the puppy chewed at our feet. He's such a sweet puppy, but once he gets chewing, he doesn't stop until he finds something better to chew.
Breakfast was rice again, then I went upstairs to wake up a bit more. I went to find Bimula, who Michael has asked to draw or paint a card that can be filled with writing for the main sponsors of NCT back in England - Christmas cards. To avoid the younger kids fighting and taking the nice paints, paper, paintbrushes etc that Michael had bought for this purpose, Bimula came upstairs to the volunteers bit and did her painting there. I sat with her reading my book - Silver Bay. A good read, but I didn't understand bits of it so, as usual, I got confused!!
She painted up until lunch time, then she took some paper and pencils to draw a picture in the afternoon. Lunch for the kids was sour yoghurt and wierd dry rice stuff, but Shanti gave me a pack of biscuits to go with my tea, very sweet. So that was my lunch!!
I then went back upstairs to finish my book, and by the time I had finished, it was rice time - 6pm!! The time had passed so fast!! Then after supper I escaped upstairs to attempt to connect to the internet, and write this!!
A random thought of the day: I would like to learn Dutch. It looks like an interesting language to learn, and I think it would be useful, since hardly anyone speaks it!! So I'm going to look into it - probably won't be able to teach myself though!!
Oh, and tonight outside is the most beautiful sight you will ever see... It's a warmer night than other nights, and the sky is completely clear with all the stars out, the slim crescent moon shining away, and a planet next to the moon, which is apparently Venus. There's no sound anywhere apart from the occasional traffic, and noises from the kids. Amazing.
