Today, there was definitely a strike or something happening... There were police and soldiers everywhere, there were no taxis (apart from 2), a lot of shops had closed down, and there were twice as many rickshaws as normal.
I woke up at 10, which was quite nice, but after a very disturbed sleep but a cold, and a bad back. I finally got up at 2ish, after playing games and reading, and went to get some breakfast/lunch at a Danish bakery. There's millions in Thamel so it was hard to choose!! I picked up a cinnamon roll, chocolate croissant, and a plain roll with sesame seeds on. I also found a tailor who said he could make me some trousers in a day, out of the material I had bought in Malawi last year - going to pick those up tomorrow. Fingers crossed it'll be ok quality!!
I then went back to the hotel, carried on reading my book, and too advantage of the hot shower!! I must have spent at least 20 minutes just standing under the stream of water!!
I then carried on reading my book, then at around 6 I felt starving again, so went out for some food. I found "the momo hut" where I had some fried chicken (which was nice but after the 6th pieced made me feel a bit sick...), then went to the Namaste restaurant and bar, had a cocktail and sat reading my book and listening to the live band - a loud electronic band. Wad quite nice actually!! I've been in the quiet woodlands for the past few weeks, so was actually quite nice to sit in loud music for a change!!
After that, I went back to the room, read my book some more, and bedtime!!
