Helloooooooooooooooo - This morning I wandered into the city onto St Georges Terrace to see if I could remember where the bus to Belmont went from. I found the bus stop more or less where I remembered it had been. Got on the No 37 headed for the Belmont Forum Shopping Centre about 5k's from the city. I went there for two reasons, 1. to see the house I stayed in when I lived in Perth 20 years ago. It was still there but looks very scruffy now and 2. to go to K-Mart and Big W for stuff I need for my trip. These shops sell everything and are much cheaper than the city centre. I got some sandals, thongs (that's flip flops by the way, they're called thongs in Oz), a torch, water bottle, first aid kit and screen holder for ipod. This done had a coffee and got a bus headed back to the city. I noticed that the bus went all the way through to Kings Park so decided to stay on right through. Kings Park is elevated above the city and provides excellent views of the high rise city skyline. The park is apparently the biggest city park in the world and has loads of walking tracks and has lots of native flora and fauna. There's also a new elevated walkway through the trees that wasn't there last time I visited. It was then tea, a few VB's and bed. Going out for lunch with my Australian friend Caroline's mum tomorrow. Caroline has been living in London for the last 10 years. I really can't understand that Caroline when you could be living in this wonderful city.
