After getting petrol from the Mt Barnett Roadhouse, we headed 14kms down the Gibb to Galvan's Gorge. This was a lovely gorge and easy 1km walk off the road. There were a few water monitors around this waterhole. The were not scared of the people, just sat relaxing on their rocks.
We then continued on to Charnley River Station which was 43km north of the Gibb River at the 402km point. It was a lovely drive in and a nice camp area, however the gorges were another 30 to 40 kms from the campground, which we were not aware off, and our petrol supplies would not last as there was no unleaded until Derby. We chose not to go to these gorges and to continue onto the Mornington Wilderness Camp. When we finish there we will head back to Mt Barnett for more fuel before continuing on (this means an extra 100km but we'll also get to see more with the extra fuel.
