Departed Nottingham heading for York, arriving at Queen Anne's Guesthouse at 11am.
Explored York, visiting Jorvik Viking Centre which was OK. Cost £6.35 each to get in. Was the first historical re-enactment type attraction we had seen so it was something different. Looking back it was probably a bit expensive for what it was. You ride on a small train around a recreation of Viking York with wax figures acting out scenes and then a museum with artifacts that have been found on the site.
Continued on to the Merchant Adventurer's Hall which was taken over by a careers expo of some sort. Went in for a quick look inside and left with a few pages of careers information on the way out?!! We had lunch from a sandwich shop and then went to the Treasurer's House, a large mansion which you can look around. It wasn't too bad.
Walked down to Clifford's Tower, climbed to the top for some good views of York. Walked on back towards our B&B stopping for some pictures and a look inside York Minster. Very impressive but hard to fit in a photo!!! Went back to B&B for a rest before getting some dinner at a pub called The Exhibition which had good food at a reasonable price.
