Arrived in St.Andrews from Edinburgh and visited the Old Course at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club. Walked along coast to St.Andrews Castle. Looked around the ruins which included 17th century siege mines which you could go into at your own risk. They were very narrow and slippery so we had a quick look then moved on! Met a couple of Australians and chatted for a while, lost track of time and had to go.

Walked across to St.Andrews Cathedral and climbed to the top of St.Rules Tower which, after climbing 150 steps in a narrow stairway gave great views of St.Andrews and the coastline. We walked back to the car to continue our journey to Inverness.
