We had a late night enjoying the lively night life in Santiago and had a lie in and late breakfast. Our batteries are definately running on empty today as our bodies have given up.
We went to the pilgrim mass today which we missed yesterday and it was a really good experience. The atmosphere was so friendly and everyone was singing at full volume. The cathedral is not as spectacular inside as others we have seen but still impressive. But the scale of it on the outside is awesome.
We then had a big Sunday lunch and retired for a siesta back at the hotel. We have now booked flights and are coming back to blighty on Wednesday.
Our overall impression is that it is a largely undiscovered gem of a place with beautiful buildings at every turn. It also HQ for fish lovers as we have never seen so many great restuarants in one place.
As of this evening the donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund stands at £3977 which is fantastic and we thank everyone so very much.
