The birthday girl was allowed a lie in so we had breakfast and left at 0830 in bright sunshine.
We had 22 km to do so took our time and enjoyed a quiet walk though open countryside which is getting more interesting again. We walked over apparently the finest medieval bridge in Spain at Hospital del Orbigo. For the last 10 days we have been walking on a fairly flat plain never dropping below 2500 ft but we are starting to climb tomorrow & by Thursday we will be at 5000ft and the highest point of the camino.
Another day and another stunning medieval town as we arrive at Astorga. So much to see and just like everywhere we have been on this trip no tourists to spoil the moment.
We had big lunch late afternoon in a beautiful square and trying to stay awake until 9 which we failed to do last night!
