Thursday 17th- no WIFFY so delayed .
After the last 2 days which have been the worst of the trip so far due to exhaustion and a lack of motivation we really needed a good day to get back on track. So luckily today was one of the best.
The weather was cooler at 20c and mostly cloudy so walking was easier, we met some great people throughout the day who we hit it off with, had lovely lunch in Sahagun (pic above) an important old pilgrim town, then arrived at a one horse village the size of Wolverton with a great hostal, bar and shop.
How our bodies keep going is a mystery as at the end of every day we feel we can't walk another step. Then in the morning somehow you start off and everything seems to work after a fashion.
Thanks to everyone for the txts, blog msgs, emails etc .. as they really do mean a lot and have given us a real boost so often when the going has been tough.
And a really big thanks to everyone who has donated money to the charity. We are up to £3440 in 3 and a bit weeks which is fabulous. Hopefully there is some more to come.
We are getting close to Leon which by all accounts is a stunning city so we are planning a day there to see the sights and stay in the Parador which is meant to be the fully monty!
Mrs Bean has been well behaved recently which has come a a big surprise . As we had a shared bathroom miles away from our room in the Albergue last night I feared the worst as in the middle of the night she had to use the head torch to go the bathroom looking like Torchy the Battery Boy (for those old enough to remember). By some stroke of luck she did make it back to the right bedroom. But that was after half an hour having visited every other one in the place first!
I thought it best we sat on our own for breakfast .

Mike love the gruesome grave - guess that's a great motivator and you've seen the storks at last. Usually they nest on the gantry over the autoroute. Leon is supposed to be fab. xx
laurieandsally Mike there are a lot storks about and are great to watch in flight. Parador booked in Leon and we can't wait to get there tmrw. Think we are getting storms over the weekend but can't complain we have had a great run.
