After the stresses of being stuck in a lift for an hour last night the vino collapso worked its miracle and we had a good nights sleep. It would have been better if some hound did not start howling in the early hours but in Spain it's happens a lot.
We had a relatively easy walk today as it was 22km on the flat and the sun did not come out until noon. We managed to avoid the threat of a couple of thunder storms and arrived at the hotel O Pino at 1sh. The place is better than the name suggests and they have also helped us book a great hotel for tomorrow in Santiago. We are back in the habit again as its a converted monastry in the old town with a pool which will be a first for us.
Only 22km to do tomorrow morning and we will have done our camino. We can't quite believe its coming to end and will probably forget we have finished on Sunday morning and set off once more.
If we leave on time tomorrow then we will complete the camino in the traditional pilgrim way and go to the pilgrim mass at 12noon. Although we are in not religious and don't want to be hypocritical we are going to enjoy what is apparently an amazing event. This is when during the service they swing with the help of 5 burly priests the massive incense burner to keep the smell of us pilgrims down to acceptable levels.

Mrs Arkwright! Wow, congrats! You have done an amazing task - well deserved hols now, are you going to be able to enjoy some rays next week - you certainly won't see any here?!!!
Arkwright Brilliant! Superb that you are in touching distance and a good extension from Penas et al. Never mind the loyal toast, we'll camino toast instead this week end. All the best for tomorrow, incredible achievement which you should be both proper proud of.
gabrielle So glad you escaped the lift and are nearly at the end of your camino. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! Much love. Xx

Please let me know if you will need collecting when you decide to return to the UK and I'll try to be available for chauffeuring duty ( you could of course just walk the last bit home).
