Camino Charity Walk
Tuesday 29th and 72 miles to the finish line in Santiago.
We set off as if we were going to do the lot in one day and quickly paid the price as weather warmed up.
It was another lovely walk with the Galician countryside looking a lot like Cornwall. It is a Celtic region and therefore shares some traditions with Irish,Scots and Welsh - its rains a lot but is beautiful when the sun shines as it did today. They also play the bagpipes here but we are hoping to avoid that at all costs.
We are staying tonight in Portormarin which is alright but geared up for the pilgrim tourists so nothing special. We have a hard 27kms to do tomorrow so will have an early night and get off early in the morning.

Gabrielle Can't believe you will have finished on Saturday - how did that happen?! It must be feeling bitter sweet at the moment, but surely the best feeling ever when you get to the finishing line? Keep on going and don't let those bodies give in. You are both amazing. Xx
Mike I think you should pay your respects in Santiago, a few hail Marys and a few bloody Marys and then walk back to France..........
laurieandsally Mike and Gabrielle many thx for all your support and messages throughout our trip. We will be having a big blow out in Santiago but definately will not be walking back to France or another 70km to Finisterre which lots of pilgrims are threatening to do . Look forward to catching up with you when we are back and you are home from HK and Bali. L and S x
Steve & Gill Bennett Me & my Husband have been reading your blogs since I met Sally's sister at the hairdressers and got talking about your trip which we have passed many times by car and really admire your brave efforts and wish you luck for your final entry into Santiago. laurieandsally Steve and Gill thx so much for your msg and glad you like the blog. We heard from Sandra that you gave her some money for our charity appeal which is really appreciated and a lovely gesture. We asked her to thank you if she sees you again but pleased we have had the chance to do it here. All the best Sally and Laurie
