Saturday 19th.
Well Burgos set the bar very high & we were not sure that Leon would live up to expectations but it has. We are having a day off tomorrow to visit the Cathedral & San Isidoro which from the outside look amazing.
The walk today was fairly boring in pouring rain for the most part but it cleared up by lunchtime when we arrived in Leon.
We had a good lunch by the cathedral then arrived at San Marcos Parador which is beautiful. Formally a Pilgrim hospital then a Monastry it is the flagship Parador and absolutely huge.
The contrast from last nights 1* hostal to this makes us appreciate it even more and I have never enjoyed a good soak in a bath more in my life.
We will enjoy a lie in tomorrow and hope the weather is better that the forecast rain. Off to catch up on Chelsea....

mike Lol that building in photo 125 is Casa de los Batinas by Gaudi, rare bcause most of his buildings were in Barcelona. Chelsea winners, did you watch it in a bar somewhere? Enjoy Leon, looks fab
laurieandsally Thx Mike we are off to see the sights and walk off a huge breakfast . Saw the match with 50 Germans - never done so much gloating!
