Last night had strange meal in the only place there was in St Juan de Ortega and ate a pasty of tuna, black pudding with rice and salad all on same plate. So hungry we ate it all and had a good time in the bar.
Left at 0715 as weather was due to hit 30c and had 26km walk to get to Burgos. Breakfast in village called Ages and then had climb back up to 3600ft where we had our 1st view of Burgos.
Met up with lovely Swedish girl called Madelene who started walking with us and we then spent the next few hours talking non stop. It really was a magical camino moment when you just hit it off with a complete stranger. We met up again in the evening and carried on where we left off - strangely knowing we will probably never meet again.
As we are having tomorrow off we had a walk round Burgos and a couple of night caps in the bars in the old town. It is a very special place.

Gabrielle Enjoy your day off, definitely well deserved! Burgos sounds fab. Can't imagine 30 degree heat, as struggling to reach 14 degrees here and rain on the horizon again. Xx
Ian Have just caught up on everything, sounds like an amazing trip, very jealous. You are both doing really well. Last nights dinner sounded fun, is that one you will be bringing back! Take care x
laurieandsally Great to hear from you Ian, and glad you've seen the blog. Had the day off today in Burgos and have both been to the physio and been re-built ready to start again tomorrow. S and L
laurieandsally Thanks Gabrielle for your message. Not as warm today - 20 degrees but lovely to walk round without boots and backpacks on. It really is a beautiful and very friendly city. L and S
