Had a traumatic night at Terry Thomas' pension as Sally was convinced there were bed bugs which is the fear of all fellow pilgrims. She had no insect spray so decided to cover the bed with hair spray. Her theory was that the bugs would stick to the mattress. Obviously it would have no effect on the bugs but at least there coiffure would be perfect while they were biting us to death.
As it happened we were not bitten but Sally was on sentry duty all night so she did not get much sleep. I apparently snored all night after mucho vino and should have shown more concern.
We left at 0645 our earliest start yet due to the 30km walk and 33 degree heat predicted. We went well for the first couple of hours walking through Eucalyptus forests for miles. Very pretty and the smell was strong.
We stopped a lot as the heat rose fast and by noon it was steaming. It must be our juvenile sense of humour but we loved the fact that we walked through two adjoining villages one called Casanova and the next called Penas.
We arrived at the pension in Arzua and it's quite modern so we should get a good nights sleep and the views are lovely.

gabrielle Lol - you have a hidden talent for writing - perhaps a novel on your return? What are we going to do without your daily updates? Have a good day tomorrow. Xx
laurieandsally I afraid Mrs Bean needs a full time carer and that will remain my role! L x
