Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
The healthy regime has begun. Zilch snacking and running every morning is hopefully gona get me fit enough to climb the mountain- fingers crossed. So on Tuesday morning, I was up bright and early to hit the field at 5.30am for a morning run and stretching. In class, I got the kids to make collages out of my magazines. I reckoned that my mags were getting a bit scrappy anyway, so might as well put them to good use. Before I gave them to the classes, I ripped out anything I liked- so that I can get it made in Vietnam.
They made collages of feelings, ambitions and reflecting their personality. I'll judge them all when I've done it with each class.
My 3A class were determined to "play ball" but I forced them to do the lesson I'd planned and told them I didn't think I could do sports with them after what happened to Farhan's hand. They really want to though so I'll have to check withy Johnston and I'll prob have to be supervised, which won't be fun. 3A are always great though- but they wana come to my class both weeks, instead of just one, so I'm gona have to come up with more lesson plans for them. I'm sure they'll be happy playing Chinese Chess, watching dvds or playing their guitars.
Today they finished their collages and I played an A-Z game with them and gave them a listening activity. The girls asked me to teach them a dance to perform for "Teacher's Day", so I'll have to fit that into their lessons. In Malaysia, they have a "Teacher's Day" once a year, where they give prezzies, cards and make a performance for their teacher. Teachers are def more highly respected here than in the UK. Most kids will do anything to impress them.
Teacher's Day is on 16th May, so next week, I'll make Teacher's Day cards with my classes.
I'm just uploading my photos from ages ago, onto my site and I'm being cooed at and hissed at (the noise sleezy guys make here) by like form 4s behind me. No amount of frowning, or coughing will help. Looks like I'm gona have to take a stand in a minute, otherwise, I'll be forced to leave- again.
I wouldn't say this weeks going really slowly, I'm just missing Darren loads and getting excited about Thailand since it's only 8 weeks away now. And it's only 3 weeks until Vietnam, so countdown really is on.
I'm off to have Philadelphia and crackers as mum thinks that's a healthy option.
