Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Monday 17th April
Up mega early to get mum to the airport. Really didn't want to say bye, but didn't want to get upset either. Knew I'd feel like I did- Aman warned me of it, since she'd previously been through the same thing, with having her boyfriend over to visit on her travels. I just wanted to go home with her. I was just starting to really get over my homesickness before mum came out but thinking that I wasn't going to see her and everyone else for another 4 months wasn't nice at all.
Spent the rest of the day feeling really lousy. Found a card in my bag from mum and that got me going again.
My first class went fine, cause they were just watching Braveheart, made lunch on my new cooker, which was quite exciting! Then I found out that my afternoon class wouldn't be coming this week cause they had co-curricular all week, so that cheered me up!
And to cheer me up even more- I went to Joyce's room to ask to borrow her phone charger and I heard little "meows". My jaw absolutely dropped. I looked down, and there was a cardboard box full of kittens!!! I was sooooooo excited!!! Seriously, way over excited about these kittens. They just made me feel so much better- they were just what I needed on that day!
I asked the girls why on earth they hadn't told me about them before, but they didn't realize I would like them so much- I was like- doh!
They find it so funny that I love them so much. Turns out that the mum had the kittens downstairs in the toilet, and the girls secretly brought them to the asrama. As you may remember- the cats are not pets here- they're all stray. But the kittens were really clean and sooo cute!
There are 3 of them- a white one, which I called "Struggle-muffin", cause I think she's gona struggle to survive unless I feed her muffins, then there's a really podgy one that when I first saw it, it wouldn't let the other kittens into its mum teats- so I called it "Podgy-sook" but "Podgy" for short. Then there's a wee ginger one that meows like crazy if you pick her up, so originally I called her "Whiney", but then thought that's a bit mean, so now she's called "Squirrel". They're just adorable, although a little scrawny. They're perfectly clean though Hannah don't worry, not even any****ie eyes!
Think I'm gona keep Struggle-muffin.
Spent the rest of the day playing with the kittens and concocting a bowl of mushed up biscuits, milk and water for the mummy cat to eat, so that she can make more milk for the babies. Cause I don't think she gets any food unless its scraps from the canteen and she's in no fit state to go scraping for food.
Aman's parents came to visit the asrama for a bit then left for the hotel.
That evening I had to prepare a Power Point for a presentation Aman and I have been asked to give- showing our travels so far. The deaf girls then came to my room to watch it, and I distributed lots of our chocolate reserves to them, to prevent me from eating any more!
Meeza, Aubrie and Joyce then came in and chilled for a bit. Got to bed pretty late.
