Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Forgot to mention- last weekend, after I posted my postcard on Sapi Island, we went for a really nice meal. Garlic bread to die for. Anyway- we found an amazin bar called "Q Bar"- oober comfy sofas, mood lighting, silk drapes everywhere, stone elephant carvings- was such a nice place to chill out. We had the entire place to ourselves since it was only about 9pm. While the rest were playing pool, the bar staff were chatting to Aman and I. Initially they seemed really nice- easy going, not sleazy like the guys can usually be in KK. But by the end of the night we received 3 love letters and 3 phone numbers- the guys are just so... desperate here- and they're all like mid 30s, 40s. Get a life man.
Anyway, as I predicted, form 3A were nothing compared to 1A in their lesson- they took forever to even figure out how to play fishy fishy fishy! And trust me- it's not hard!!
Learned some more hard truths about a deaf student today which really shocked us- especially Aman since she is obviously close with the deaf children. Tis really hard to believe the conditions that some of the children live in. It's sad to think that while we'll be in Hong Kong for the Chinese New Year hols, some of the children will be returning to shanty houses with no electricity or running water.
