Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Sunday 11/06/06
Bad bad day- not much to say about it. Exhausted, teary and nasty, that's about it really. With mummy and Aman's help, all was good. Had a fun fashion show with Aman to show off our purchases from our hols and caught up on all the gossip. Aman took notes on Thailand for me with some ace tips for Darren and I to use, and her hol sounded awesome. Made me look forward even more to Darren coming out. I just know Thailand's gona be amazing. Everyone I've spoken to says it's in a class of its own when it comes to countries in S.E.Asia. Can't wait!!
Monday
Classes didn't turn up, so I took the opportunity to catch up on sleep and get a few things sorted out. Wrote up my entire Vietnam post cards. Joyce has got a new boyfriend from her old school-very exciting. Oh and forgot to mention that Struggle- muffin and Podgy have been taken away!! Some teachers have taken them and only Squirrel is left. They're far too young to be away from their mummy and they'll prob have loads of worms now cause I haven't been able to give them their medicine. I just hope they're ok.
Tues- slept most of the day. Went to the post office to check out prices of sending stuff home. Air mail is absolutely extortionate so it looks like I'll have to ship it all, which'll take about 3 months but is a lot cheaper. Had a look around Dongonon- the town that is nearby. We felt really stupid that we had never looked around there before but it would cost just as much in taxis there as it would to get to KK. There were some local shops and we went into a developer's office, which had designs and pics for a new huge complex, called "Mega Long" which we could see being build nearby. I was like- "aw, gutted it wasn't built while we were here", but Aman made the good point that everything would be a lot more industrialised and modern if it were opened and wouldn't have the laid back, rural feel we have now. But I looks like it will be really good for the town once it's built. And it has Starbucks!! Hitched a taxi back to the school, went online and realised that my entire Vietnam postcard had been deleted from the computer due to a virus. Felt pretty crappy so just headed for bed.
Wed- been better today. Managed to re-write my postcards. No classes again. Gona try to get my scrapbook done and start packing some things together for sending home. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the bible study group tomorrow night and then going out for a couple of nice meals this weekend. Aman and I are determined to get to the Coffee Bean to watch one of the World Cup matches, cause it's open until 2am on a midnight match, so should be fun. Only 2 weeks and 1 day left now, really can't wait much longer!!
