We drove through Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun before setting up camp at Starvation Boat Harbour, 50km east Hopetoun. David took the motorbike off here to go for a ride but was a bit restricted as he did not have much petrol left. From Albany we headed north. We went for a drive through Porongurup National Park and the Stirling Ranges - very picturesque. We camped at a free spot along the highway at Fitzgerald River, 79km west Ravensthorpe. There was a storm in the evening and we were up early this morning and moving on. Kylie

Spent 3 nights in Albany at a caravan park on Middleton beach. We did a bit of sight-seeing including Cable Beach, Blowholes, Natures Bridge and The Gap. We sampled some of the local beers at the Tanglehead brewery. The weather hasn't been good with scattered showers forcing us inside. Also the air temperature is cooler than we are used to. It was cold and wet on Thursday. We drove to Pemberton where we had a coffee. We continued on towards Walpole. The trees lining the roads, and the wet roads, reminded us of the Dandenongs. We had some rolls for lunch in Walpole before taking a couple of tourist drives to the Tingle Tree and the Valley of the Giants, where we did the treetop walk. Wednesday became quite wet. We ended up setting up camp at a camp area in Balingup. Due to the weather we stayed indoors. After our big Chinese lunch we only needed peanuts for dinner. After a quick breakfast, we packed up and moved on before the rain came. Kylie
