Crew Frivolous
We awoke to a beautiful but quite hot morning. Marcus and Ang had been up for a while and had made the decision that it was time to leave us to begin their journey south. They had been delaying this for about a week now but today was the day. They packed up in record time and we took a last feet photo then had a very quick but teary and emotional goodbye. We have all had such a fantastic time together and will miss them dearly.
After they drove off we spent a bit of time just sitting quietly then we started chatting about how to spend the rest of the day.
We drove out to the Tully Gorge and had a wander around. We had a picnic lunch in the National Park and then went for a swim and snorkel in the impressive Tully River. It was quite chilly but so invigorating. When is was time to leave Joe realised that he had lost his keys somewhere at the bottom of the river (oops) He put his snorkel and goggles back on and to our delight he was lucky enough to find them!!
We stopped off in Tully which is known as a pretty wet place and took pics at the Golden Gumboot. The sign says the height of the gumboot represents the amount of rainfall recorded in Tully in 1950 (7.9 metres - an Australian record).
We then headed down to the Girramay National Park and wandered along the boardwalk to see the Murray Falls. The amount of water tumbling down was quite amazing. Further down the river at the swimming hole I slipped and fell into the river. I had my mobile in my pocket and my camera in my hand which all got a dunking as well. Luckily the only thing I hurt was my pride but my beautiful diamond ring is off to the jewellers for repairs.
When we got back to camp we went over to Millers Beach Bar & Grill for happy hour. It was buy 1 Corona get 1 free. We stayed there for quite a while and had a pizza for our entree then headed back to camp to have yet another fish dinner.
