We were very organised today, a mechanic on the edge and a goose on the loose with a hema, leaving Emerald just after 7am.
Straight to Charters Towers. We needed to do some calculations as to our route from here and according to the map and a bit of miss management we ended up on a wee little dirt road that was heading nowhere fast and had absolutely no idea where we where going...LOST... about face back the way we had come and thanks to the lovely folk at the Oasis Roadhouse we where soon set straight...
Back on track we decided that we were too close to stop now...so it was "Push on Regardless" as Poppy Reg would always say.
And FINALLY at around 8.30pm (we're not really sure coz we were a bit overwhelmed to say the very least) we hit destination 1 - Ellis Beach....and 82cape where together ready to start.
The trip that has been 2 years in the making was now a reality.
