Crew Frivolous
We all got up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning ready to leave on the next stage of our big adventure.
We headed straight to Mossman and went to see the gorge. It was humid in the rainforest but it was very pretty and well worth a look.
Our next stop was at the Daintree River where we had to cross via the ferry. There was a reasonably short line in front of us and we were on the other side in almost no time. Almost straight away the road started to climb.
We stopped at the Alexander Range Lookout and took a few pics of the glorious view.
Back into the cars and continued on up the Bloomfield Track. It had a few steep climbs and some of the steepest ones are now concreted. Our guys did a great job navigating these climbs and the first river crossing of the trip.
We had all heard different stories about this track and a couple of us were a bit unsure. Later that arvo Ang posted on face book "A couple of river crossings, lot's of steep stuff and I haven't cracked a can!!!" It was a great intro for us all.
We stopped at Myall Beach at Cape Tribulation, had our lunch and a walk down to the water. Then back on the road and continued on the Rossville-Bloomfield Track. We stopped along the way and went to look at the Bloomfield Falls. They were amazing!! The amount of water coming down was just incredible.
We travelled onto Helenvale and just had to stop and check out the Lion's Den. We thought about staying there the night but we continued on to Archer Point and after a bit of looking around we found a lovely spot to camp right on the beach.
