Happy Fathers Day Marty and Jenny were up at 4.30am and headed home early to beat the rush. The remaining four vehicles now packed headed for the main road. We saw the town in the distance. The horizon looked like an expanse of ant hills and there appeared to be a fire there. On closer inspection the fire turned out to be a working mine with dust streaming from the machinery. Day 2, leaving Grandma’s house, destination Port Augusta. After a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs we headed west towards Renmark. A detour was necessary across the Murray just to say we have been in three states in one day (it didn’t take us twelve hours).
