G'day once again
Been out of internet contact for a few days, you may have noticed the reduced number of phone calls from Wendy. As soon as the phone indicated the slightest service Wendy was all over the phone, withdrawal symptoms.
We left Longreach and set the satnav for Hughenden and naturally it selected the shortest route. This would be about 100 kms of sealed road and 250 kms of dirt. We thought what the hell we'll test the cruiser out on some rough stuff. About half way through we came across half a dozen road trains heading the other way. All's good, get well of the road and let him pass. Long story short, one cracked windscreen and a broken driving light lens.
We didn't like the look of Hughenden so we kept going to Porcupine National Park and stayed at Pyramid Gorge Camping grounds. Beautiful spot but Wendy didn't appreciate the long drop toilet special odour, it made her dry reach.
Next day off to Undara Volcanic National Park.
