Crew Frivolous
Today was a day for sightseeing all the waterfalls of the area. Jen picked a round trip of twelve waterfalls to go to which were back towards Cairns near the Atherton Tablelands.
We headed towards the Innisfail Tourist information centre to check out what there was to see in the area. It was a beautiful drive through the wet tropical forest stopping at the one hundred sets of traffic lights for the roadworks on our way to Millaa Millaa.
The first falls were Tchupala and Wallicher falls which were a comfortable walk through the forest to spectacular falls. Next onto Mungalli falls which were bigger but required a one kilometre walk on a steep track to reach the base of the falls, again very pretty. Ellinjaa falls also a steep track to reach the fall, so once at the top a rest was needed with lunch and refreshments. Zillie Falls the girls decided the best view of the falls was from the viewing platform at the top of the fall and so that they didn't miss out on the best pictures, Colin and Joe were sent down through the jungle to the base of the falls. Millaa Millaa Falls were the prettiest of the falls and had a large swimming hole at the base. It beats me why they put Victorian water in these creeks, the water was freezing, but needless to say a swim was mandatory.
Jen said only two more waterfalls to see today, a cry of enough is enough was heard, so instead we went to Tarzali Lakes barramundi farm. Fishing seemed too easy so we opted for fish feeding until the girls got bored, which wasn’t long. Back to camp stopping at all those traffic lights again and because it was such a long way we had to stop at the Mourilyan Pub (old Queenslander) for a couple.
No one could be bothered preparing dinner so of to Millers Beach Bar and Grill for ten dollar pizzas, another great day comes to a close.
