Up and on the road this morning and made our way to Cape Hillsborough which is about 50km north of Mackay. The caravan park is in a beautiful national park and right on the beach.
After setting up camp we drove to Mackay to have a look around. Firstly we went and stocked up on groceries and fuel, then drove over to Eimeo Beach which we read had recently been named as one of the best 101 beaches in Australia. The tide was a long way out and didn't make it very inviting.
We had a picnic lunch at Sunset Bay (part of Eimeo), then drove along to Bucasia to check out the caravan park there. There were heaps of Plume Whistling Ducks in the park.
We made our way back to camp where Wendy cooked us silverside and fresh veggies for dinner. YUM!!! Thanks Wen :-D We ended our night playing cards in the camp kitchen.
