Crew Frivolous
After breaking camp this morning our first crossing was Cockatoo Creek. This had a very steep and rocky descent that needed guidance and once down at water level we all had to get out and act as markers for some rather large holes and some huge rocks. And once again even though I'm sure in between photographs and driving some of us where holding our breath.
Someone got a bit confused with his lefts and rights in giving directions. Once we had that sorted
we stopped and payed tribute to William Brown; a linesman who died whilst working the OTL.
Sailors Creek was fairly uneventful and after a quick stop at Sheldon's Lagoon for a photo
opportunity we headed on to Canal Creek. It was either here or Sam's Creek that would be our camp spot for the night. There was no mention of the ford though that had to be crossed to reach Canal Creek. Ah what the heck...we were up for it. Cols turn to do the walk on this one. Brave Man!
Again from what we had read Sam's was the recommended but we found Canal Creek just beautiful with terrific swimming, and not that far to drive back to Fruit Bat Falls and Eliot Falls.
We set ourselves up sat back and relaxed and enjoyed a few drinks and a few games of Jenga....So Good !
So good it was going to be home for the next 4 days.
