Packed up and said goodbye to Townsville. Not really knowing where we will stop, but possibly Airlie Beach. The drive was pleasant with many intervals brought about by traffic lights for road works, how to make a 2 hour drive into 3 hours.
We got to Home Hill and Joe saw the sign for Groper Creek, apparently excellent barramundi fishing, so off to check it out. When we got there it was blowing its **** off and we didn't have a boat to get out of the breeze so we abandoned any thoughts of fishing and continued south.
Jen read a few good things about Bowen on the internet so Wendy rang and booked us into the Horseshoe Bay caravan park. We got settled into the park and went for a walk to the beaches, lots of beautiful little bays nicely sheltered out of the wind. Joe picked a fishing spot on the point out of the wind.
The rest of the day we spent driving around Bowen looking at the sites. Went for a walk on the Jetty and drove to the lookout to look over the islands at the end of the Whitsundays. Another pleasant day draws to a close.

jenny ryan wow. wow wow. Absolutely fab photos Wen and Col. What a trip!!! You won't want to return to our quiet little place with no fab sun set on the beach!!! Sorry we haven't tuned in earlier... slack...some lame excuse about being busy!!! Weather improving here. Near to snow last week!!! Sooooooooooooooo much rain. Water everywhere between Mirboo North and Leongatha. All well and boring here. Much love Jen Dave and co.
