Remember remember the 5th of November. The gun powder, treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
So I woke up instantly at 9 and had no hopes of falling back asleep. It was unfortunate because this was the only day I could sleep in for basically the next week.
I spent the morning catching up on tv shows then went on a run to Primrose Hill. As always I wanted to die while running up it but the view makes it all worth it.
After I got back Ellie and I did some little errands with a stop at Ben' cookies for cookies and milkshakes.
Then we made our way to the Notting Hill area for a Bon Fire night festival. There were people juggling, dancing with and eating fire, people walking on stilts in alien-like costumes, some fireworks and a huge bonfire.
The bonfire was a big pile of pallets with some small fireworks hidden inside that would spark and crackle every so often. The main fireworks were pretty cool too. There were some sticks and stuff on the fences that would shoot a continuous stream of sparklers. Then there was this circular contraption that a man was in that spun around, propelled by the fireworks on the spokes. Then from behind the fence a long display of fireworks ensued. This was really cool but not very safe. The fireworks were not very high, shot into the trees and kept showering the crowd with ash and pieces of who knows what. Ellie and I both got hit in the eyes with the debris. I wore my hood for the remainder of the show and was afraid to look directly upward.
After the fireworks I went back to the flat. I spent the evening videochatting with Stacy, researching for Dover tomorrow and watching V for Vendetta (appropriate for bonfire night).
