Great day again. I had my internship interview. It went quite well. My supervisor Felicity, is the curator of the 'museum'. I use that word carefully because it is not really a museum. It is more of an organisation that has a lot of artefacts, paintings, texts and maps but no real showroom for these items. They do have a library which people can come use but other than that, the pieces are usually loaned to other organisations for shows. My hours are easy: 10:30-4/4:30 Wednesdays and Thursdays and some Fridays (when I don't have class field trips). I don't start until the 22nd of September as Felicity is going to be on holiday until then and just prefers me to start after that. I am excited to start and think it will be very interesting.
After that I did a little research on Chamonix then went for a long run throughout Regents Park (where else). I finally found the zoo!!! Was very disappointed however when I saw the £19 entrance fee. That is so ridiculous. You can find theatre tickets for that price. Needless to say I will not be going in the zoo. I did see some giraffes and zebras over the fence though. I took various paths all throughout the park, with a more exploratory look at the Queen Mary's Gardens (so far my favourite part of the park). It was very relaxing and cleansing. I am very glad and grateful that we are situated so close to such a large and beautiful park.
After my run I did a little miscellaneous school work then took a much needed catnap (my first nap since I've been here, intent on avoiding jetlag).
Then I did some more extensive research on Chamonix and videochatted with Dad about it too. It is rather overwhelming. Hopefully it will all come together in the next month.
Videochatted with Stacy. She booked her flight to come here in two weeks!!! Hopefully I can return the favour during my November break.
Ellie, Dawn and I made dinner again. Tonight was pasta and beef tips for them, taco meat for me. For once we had leftovers so we can definitely make it to the weekend before we have to do anymore food shopping. It was good, as always. I made T's no/bake cookies, which were a hit of course. I did get requests for more shortbread (we finished that and Ellie's banana bread within 24 hours).
Sleepy time for Ali. Get to sleep in tomorrow. Check Facebook tomorrow for more pictures from my jaunts throughout Regents Park.
