I had a lovely relaxing day today. Ellie, Dawn and I went to IKEA in Wembley. There was a free shuttle from the tube station, which made things much easier for us. It was Ellie's first time at an IKEA - she loved it. It was hard to decide what to buy. There were some things that we could really use (desks, more dishes etc.) but we didn't buy because we wouldn't be able to take it back with us at the end. I did get a muffin pan (which I will take back if I have enough room), which wouldn't be considered a necessity. The wells in it are deeper and narrower than the ones in the states. Haven't bought the paper cups yet so I don't know if what we have would also fit these, or if they have different dimensions. It'll be an experiment the first time we use it.
I also got some stuff to make my room a little more homey, like a fleece throw, duvet cover and pillowcases. Of course they are all green. I did however, force myself to buy a bath towel that was not green. Or as it was called in IKEA, a bath sheet.
Once we got back to the flat, Ellie and I went to Oxford street to do a little boot shopping. Unfortunately, we got there just after 6, which is when all the major stores close. We did find this one place with cheap boots, but being the big footed girls that we are, all the styles we liked didn't have our sizes left. I am going to go back another time and pit more effort into finding my size.
After that unsuccessful shopping excursion, we returned to the flat and made stir fry for dinner. It was very good. I like cooking together because I'm trying more things and it's fun. Even though our kitchen is small, we make it work, all pitching in at different times.
Now I'm off to bed, early in comparison to the past few nights. First class tomorrow.
Nighty night.
