Pretty good day today.
I slept very well last night getting to sleep before midnight for once. Work today was the usual array of activities. I got to leave an hour early so when I got back I went for a run, finally!!!!!
I ran through a part of Regent's Park then made my way to Abbey Road. It was quite a haul. Took my half an hour to run there. It was pretty cool though. You can see the studios and people write all over the walls in front of it. It is a pretty busy road, at least when I was there which was at the beginning of rush hour. While the crosswalk is technically one that pedestrians can go across at any time no one seemed to know that (obviously because they are tourists). There were people standing on a median across from the crosswalk ready to take pictures of their friends walking across the road. Everywhere I looked there were groups of four waiting for the traffic to clear. It was all really cool nonetheless and I will be returning to get a picture of myself in that crosswalk at some point. On the way back I ran along part of the Regent's Canal (I think that is the name). This borders part of Regent's park then southwest of it for a bit. It was sort of confusing but when I found a way back up to the road it turned out that I was right where I had exited the park earlier so I was all set. Overall I ran over 4.5 miles so it was quite a successful run. Although the extensive amount on pavement did make one of my hips and my already questionable foot hurt. I'll make it a shorter run tomorrow.
When I got back I made myself a delicious meal of mashed potatoes (maybe the best I've ever had. I didn't have to add anything to them when they were on my plate. Perfection), fake meat and salad. I topped it all off by making brownies for Dawn, Ellie and I. Not very imaginative but I wanted to work with what I had. This weekend I'm going to tackle British desserts (or puddings or afters as they like to call them). I think mince meat pie (with vegetable shortening, not suet) will be my first project.
Now I must go to bed. A nap is probably going to be necessary tomorrow. Have to run first though. Sunset is around 6:30 right now. That's so early. Not happy about it.
Okay. Bedtime.
Night night.
