Pretty good day today.

I woke up and put the finishing touches on my paper (thanks mom). Now I have a couple days and then I have to start on another, much more difficult one.

Then I spent some time trying to make my iphoto recognise dog faces. May not have been the most productive use of my time but who cares?

I went to NYU before class to print out my paper. Then I made my way to Tate Britain, where we were going for class today. We went through the 'voyeurism, surveillance and the camera' exhibit. It was pretty much what you would expect based on the title. Still very interesting. Some of the photos reminded me of the type of shots dad takes. I saw some photos that I had studied in my art history class at UR which was pretty cool. Although not quite the same as when you see a painting in a book then go seethe actual one. The photographs don't look that much different on the page than they do on the wall. Nonetheless it was nice to be able to draw these links.

After class I came back to the flat, did some laundry and made tortilla española for dinner. It was very good but kind of time consuming. I had reduced the recipe in half but it was still twice as much as necessary.

Then Ellie and I did some research about various trips throughout the semester. We're definitely doing Bath, Oxford, Edinburgh and Dublin. We're trying to fit Amsterdam in. The only way it may be financially feasible is if we take a 10 hour overnight bus. It's still up in the air.

While doing this research I looked to see what the current prices were to flights to Barcelona. I found a really cheap one on Ryanair so I booked it for £42 total (a pretty good deal). Now I will still have to pay for buses to and from the airports but overall it's still pretty cheap. I will be there Tuesday November 9th until Sunday the 14th.

Also on my individual travelling agenda is a day in Paris when Stacy is there (October 9th or 10th) and a day in Windsor/Eton (probably November 7th or 8th).

I received a package from Babs today (had no idea it was coming so it was a wonderful surprise). The family must have a great sense of what I need when because the package from mom contained tea on the day I almost bought some at the store and the package from Babs had cereal bars in it (among other things) which I almost bought today.

Well that sums up the day. Must go to bed now. Work in the morning.
