Fun day today.
Had a slow start to the day. And again health-wise, not any better, not any worse.
Videochatted with Buck, T and Shea for a while. Shea asked me if I got a castle for her yet. Now she wants a pink one too. I have found some, but didn't like them a whole lot so I'm still looking. Doubt I'll find a pink one though.
Went through my expenses so far and I'm doing pretty well. Right now I am about £40 under budget per week. This is including shopping and gifts. I'm pretty happy with it. Although I know part of this is because we haven't done any travelling yet. But so far so good.
I went for a walk in Regent's Park. Still not healthy enough to run but it was nice to get back in the park (hadn't been there since Sunday). Found another new area!!! Well not a whole area but a little section of the Queen Mary Gardens that I hadn't discovered before. It is amazing how many different varieties of roses they have there. I would guess there are at least thirty. Even with my congestion, I was still able to smell them.
After my walk we (Dawn, Ellie, Frances, Reg and I) headed to the southbank, near the Eye, to a comedy show at this bar called the Slug and Lettuce. It was pretty cool. Some of Reg's friends met us there for the show. There were three comedians, all different and funny. The first was an irishman who did traditional standup. The second was a London-dwelling American woman who told jokes through song. The third was a British comedian/magician. They were all quite funny. The host was pretty funny too. He was also American (although now British) so there were some American targeted jokes. We were smart enough to not let on that we were American, then Reg ratted us out. Luckily we didn't become the butt of the joke.
After the show Ellie and I headed back and went to Vapiano (a pizza pasta bar about a block north of Oxford street on our way home). It was delicious. It was pretty cheap too and serves food and drinks until midnight (somewhat of a rarity around here, with bars usually closing around 11). There is no table service. You order your food at stations and it is made in front of you,
kind of like UR's dining halls. It was all very good. We bit got pasta but I did see the pizza and it looked pretty good. And I saw people eating it with their hands!!!!!! I think it is definitely going to become a frequent haunt for us.
Well bedtime for me. Really hoping I start feeling better tomorrow. Pip pip!!!
