We woke with the attitude of lets get our bikes today and see how things go, our hosts have guests departing and more arriving for their holiday home rental. They don't need us as they have two daughters who work cleaning and getting the house ready. So... why not off we go to Decathlon a big sport shop that has bikes, well not the bikes for us they were cheap bikes and Pascal said no way am I riding one of those for 600km's it will just fall apart.
So mmmm what to do we looked on the internet and found another bike shop and wala - we arrived walked inside and perfect!!!! After about 3 hours of talking and discussing we walk out with different bikes to what we thought we were going to but - we have 29' mountain bikes with tyres perfect for cycling on trails or roads. My a womans specific with the mandatory girly seat - I am so happy about that!! They fit in the back of the car so our calculations back home were great. Pascal is getting use to the colours - I love mine with the bright coloured handle grips. The French they eat so late - its 10pm before we are eating dinner and not finishing until midday - I can't go on like this so I may opt out of the evening dinning experiences with the family otherwise I am going to be like a rhino on my bike ha haa!!
Another day off tomorrow, we haven't even started and we have two days off - wow this is not what we are use to, normally we always do so many hours before a break, Carol & Eric are very generous, they have their hardship story of an accident that Eric had that changed their lives 3 & 1/2 years ago - its been a very long road for him to get back to functioning properly. Life can change in a moment so it brings us back to reality and to live in the moment you are in and not in what we are planning next. We have to speak as much french as possible so our conversations are a mixture of french words with English to fill in the gaps and vice-versa with Carol having very good English and also her eldest daughter.
