We hit the road and left Limousin behind, 2 hours away are our great friends Sandy & Roger who live in Amberac in The Charente Region. We met these guys back in 2012 when we volunteered through the helpx scheme. We lived with them for a month and the bond that was formed is what you would call "a rest of your life friendship."  They live in a fabulous home and always tell us we have come home when we visit, its very special. So, as usual the humour is bouncin...

We had a wonderful last night with Sandy & Roger and they spoilt us with a Raclette, where you pick what you would like and cook it yourself - great fun, and washed down with real French Champers, thank goodness we keep clicking up the km's on the bikes otherwise I would be as fat as a house by now.

63km's today and it was a wonderful ride and I felt like I could easily have done another 20km's must be getting fitter, the hills are rolling and the villages and view are perfect for those wanting to wander through the peaceful french countryside with no pressure or stress of traffic. We are now in Amberac a lovely small village in The Charente, a department in the south west of France and named after The Charente River which is a big, lazy, very picturesque River with flowing willow trees that bow their heads over creating a feeling of peace.
