So we left Mont Saint Michel via the Green ways towards Brittany - Cancale was where we headed for, we had views of the Mont for quite awhile as we cycled along the paths, I kept looking thinking, we really did cycle all the way from Paris and we have been there now - WOW. I was still cough, coughing but the sun was shinning brightly and it was 20 degrees so I was feeling really happy and warm. We stopped once we hit the coast for a Rod special - homemade tea with nettles and garlic to try and clear my breathing. We really enjoyed just sitting in the sun relaxing, watching not much at all, a couple of people walking their dogs in the distance. It was so peaceful, then a bus pulled up and 40 kids jumped out - how your world can change in a moment, a lesson to appreciate each moment. Now we had lots to watch and listen to, these kids were so well behaved, no yelling, running, pulling schools bags they were so orderly I wondered, did the teachers have them drugged???
We continued to cycle and it was really enjoyable, we took a short cut on the road missing out a bit of the trail to get to Cancale quicker. We climbed a descent hill and cut off the main road onto the panoramic road, flew round the corner and the view was spectacular I was exhausted and at the bottom of the hill the relief that I had made it brought the tears, its not fun cycling when you are ill and it takes the joy out of it, starts to feel like a job you don't enjoy - it was not meant to be like this and its tough for Rod too he can't fix it!! So we are both really happy to have arrived in this quaint, small, coastal town where we can relax, we cycle the main street to the end and find oysters being sold from fishermen and get a dozen each directly from them and sit there, they serve them on a special plate with a lemon and a special knife - PERFECT - so we scoffed them. We meet a couple of old french guys who who are also sitting eating oysters and they insist you must have white wine with these and pour us wine into spare cups they have - OMG have we found paradise ha ha. We speak our pigeon French/English have a few laughs and bid them farewell and just sit and enjoy the sun for awhile before we head to our Air BNB room for the next 2 nights. I slept most of that afternoon and all night too.
