Life in Oz!
It took me a long time to get out of bed this morning because my room was freezing. I woke up a few times last night because I was so cold. I went to the pre-departure luncheon from 1-2pm where they gave us some info on things we need to do before we go home and once we get home. The lunch was lots of finger food stuff, (meat) pies, sausage rolls, chicken and of course cake and Tim Tams for dessert. After the luncheon I walked back to UniCentral with Lena so I could finally get her pictures from the Whitsundays. I met her friend Ben and her roommate Ben as well. They were both nice guys, too bad I didn't get to meet them earlier in the semester. I didn't get a whole lot accomplished in my apartment before Matilda called and I went to her place before going to the State of Origin Live at Uni party. State of Origin is three footy matches between New South Whales and Queensland with players on each team representing their home state. It is a pretty big deal here, its almost like the Super Bowl, minus the commercials and the game is actually a lot of fun to watch. Matilda, Bettina, Katherine, Emilene (Matilda's roommate) and I hung out between Matilda and Bettina's apartments until we headed over to Uni at 8:30 (match started at 8). The atmosphere was insane there were heaps of people there, mostly wearing maroon (QLD) and a few brave enough to wear blue (NSW). It was a pretty close game but NSW got a last minute point and won 17-16, but don't worry, there are two more games to go! Afterwards they had a DJ so we danced for awhile before we headed back to Bettina's apartment. We didn't stay long though because we were both tired and I need to get up for my tute tomorrow. It was super cold outside, I'm not appreciating it. When I got back to my room I checked the weather online and it is 6C (43F)! Not fair! It keeps getting colder. My room was freezing as well, it was only about 15C (59F) when I went to bed.
