Hi All,
Yeah C's right I can't wait to talk football cause its one of many things I am missing from back home.
We decided to go with our flatmates Alan and Katrina to the game at the Suncorp Stadium, home to the Queensland Roars they played in orange which reminded my of My lads team back home (Musselburgh United).
The Queensland Roars were at home against Adelaide United, When the teams got announced there was some names mentioned that were playing. Rangers very own Craig Moore was playing as captain for Queensland as well as a guy called Danny Tiato who played for Man city. On the opposite team Bobby Petta who played for Celtic was in the Adelaide team. A Celtic v Rangers Derby game.
Adelaide were meant to be the better team and wore similar strips to Airdrie so we will call it a Dundee Utd v Airdie Utd game for us Scots.
We managed to get seats behind the goal so we had an excellant view. Alan and I once we found our seats went for Alcohol. We found a stall called the quicky beer stall. So for that evening we kept singing "Quicky beer, Quicky beer going get me some more quicky beer". You had to be there I guess.
Game kicked off a within a couple of minutes Adelaide scored a good goal. A few bad challenges happened and both sides had players booked.
Queensland before half time missed 3 clear chances, hit the post and hit the bar before scoring.
The second half started and I said to the girls to pretend there had been a goal scored cause Alan had went to the toilet. Sure enough though I jinxed the game and 5 minutes into the half Adelaide scored so Alan really did miss a goal and more players were booked. Big bad Craig Moore was sent off as usual for sliding tackles and Bobby "You ain't getting any betta" Petta was substituted for being crap.
Queensland scored a wonderful header 10 minutes from the end of the game to make it 2 -2. All in all a great game to go and watch and the standard was not that bad either.
My feet have been itching for a game as the lads for Mussie Utd started the season and are doing well, but all I can do is watch at the minute. Maybe thats why I done so well at the running today!!!!!!!!
Anyway been up since 5:30 on sunday morning and its now 9:45 I am nearly falling a sleep.
We said we were having a non eventful week but as usual we have something to report.
This is Iain Ring-Macleod signing off.
