Hi everyone - long time no blog!!

We have just been so busy, not had a minuted to ourselves since we got here - been frantically looking for a place to stay and a job!!

Friday 22

Had major mess up with our funds - we transferred funds from UK to z before came but when we got here Oz bank had closed our account coz we did not put any money in it within 28 days of opening it!!! aaaargh!! Our money went back to a Scottish holding branch!

Had to wait 9 hours before we could phone UK to sort it out - they found it though and it should arrive in our Oz account on Friday - been having withdraw cash on credit cards - not good!!!

Saturday 23rd

We hred bikes from our hostel and went for a nice ride along brisbane river - loads of cycle paths over here and evryone cycles. Lots of things by the river, cafes, restaurants, a lagoon pool, manmade beach, markets, lots and lots!!

Sunday 24th

We got up at 5:15AM and cycled to a park where a the Brisbane Road Runners hold races on every 2nd Sunday on the month - we decided just to do the 5 km (feeling unfit with not really any exercise for 3weeks!! - used to it 6 times a week!). There was about 60 people only about 10 doing 5km and the rest doing the 10km - super fir people, they we all really nice and Iain came 3rd man with 22mins 05secs and i was 2nd women with 24mins 13secs - 1st time ever i've had a position read out at a race (there was only 10 in the race tho - he, he!!) We also viewed an amazing room in house to rent and took it straight away - absolutely gorgeous!

Monday 25th

We sat in internet cafe applying for jobs and moved into our room. It's a giant and i mean huge Queenslander house with stripped wooded floors and a 25ft verandah. It has a permanent outdoor gas barbeque, new fitted kitchen, 52; plasma TV, office with computer, scanner etc, luxury bathroom with whirlpool bath 9 can't use tho coz of wtaer restrictions) and walk-in shower, our bedroom is really big and nice, the owner lives in a room and another couple live in another room (girl is english and her boyfriend is italian - seem nice people) She lets the downstairs of the house separately and is single rooms 0 not really met those folk yet. You can walk to the riverside and city so it's great!

Rent includes everything from gas, elect to internet, phone calls, washing etc. Got a really good deal so we're happy on that front!

Tuesday 26th June (TODAY)

I had an appointment to register ayt a legal temp agency this morning and managed to get 2 days work for Thurs & Fri as a receptionist at a Law Firm (a bit scary as i have never been a receptionist before - not clue how to transfer calls etc....)

We are just about to go to our next appointments at another agency to register and got another appointment each tomorrow (at same agency) so hopefully we can both get temp work for a few months - as we now desperately need money!!

It's p****ing down with rain over here - not so cold tho and had a gorgeous day on Sunday but every1 keeps saying that the weather will pick up soon!

Will start uploading our Brisbane photos asap - it just takes so long to upload and sorry about other photos that are sideways - computer wouldn't let me rotate them!!!
