Hi All,
Sorry my normal wednesday night Fraser blog didn't occur, being really tired lately. Anyway I am here now.
Before I get into my ramble a few things to say:
1) Thanks to all you out there blogging or viewing our adventure. Its great and leaving the messages is so good for us as it means we feel less home sick.
2) I want to say I love my wife C and she is making this trip really good, her planning and researching is second to none and its great to take it easy. I think she knows its good practise for when she becomes a lawyer.
Anyway Last Friday sitting in the scottish corner of the union jack I came across to football strips (Rangers and Celtic), Where the hearts one I thought to myself but then realised we have never had a oz playing in our team!!!
Haven't been drunk over here since the last night out so two drinks kinda went to my head. It was fun and we enjoyed it.
During the race on Sunday I couldn't believe the time we got up at. The one thing that really annoyed me during the race is how many people think they are fit and take a 60 min race number when after 2 mins they are walking and getting in our way.
Only bad thing I done during the race was cut of this runner with a 3 wheel pram, his front wheel clipped my heel, I didn't look back as he was cursing me so I burned rubber. Yeah pram rage who would have thought that would happen on a motorway!!!!
We have never run this distance before so C and I were aiming for for 60 mins. There were pacer runners with balloons tied to them so that you could ensure you kept your time. I felt good so ended up sticking with the 55 min pacemaker. Only thing was sometimes I got to close and his balloons were hitting me in the head. I think he thought I liked him in his tight multi patterned running trousers.
Even after the race we have kept up the running this week. I am so fit now and have drunk less pints off beer that I think I am fading away!!!
If my dad is reading this just now please sit down. Our bikes brakes have not been working as well as they could (none existant is the phrase). So i bought a spanner and a pair of pliers and went out last night and fixed both bikes. Amazing end up in OZ and the labouring skills come to me.
Apart from that folks not a lot else and C has covered it all this week. Just been our weekly shop so food in the cupboards.
Oh yeah, On the night out when I was drunk I riped my jeans, they are still stylish but could do with an upgrade, however only thing is they dont cater for small legged men like me!!!! Stretch me please!!!
See you all soon
Iain
